I am very glad we did business with Direct Electric for the purchase and installation of our Quiet Cool Attic Fan.
I got a couple of prices and found DEC to be the best price by about $150.00 on the model I got. Additionally, their estimated installation time was about half the time required by the competition. In talking to them in the process, I found them to be the most knowledgeable about the various products and models (which I had researched online - so I knew when a company was accurate or not).
It was a week before they had an open appointment which was not as good as some of the competition but I was not in that much of a rush so it worked for me. They gave me a two hour window for arrival and arrived in the earlier part of that window which was nice and seems to be unusual these days.
The installation crew was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They verified a good location and made sure the ventilation of my attic was sufficient for the requirements of our model. They were careful to keep our home clean in the process and were in and out in the time frame promised. From arrival to departure, the whole process took about 90 minutes.
I am very pleased with the end result and the whole process could not have gone smoother.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish with DEC. We had a Quiet Cool House fan installed and the installation was fast and efficient, we had great customer service from the beginning and very happy with the end result. We love having the fan. A great company, and I highly recommend them.
After talking about it for years, we just had a Quiet Cool Whole House Fan installed by Direct Electric Company. This is a game changer! Can't believe the difference already. And it really lives up to its name - it is quiet and wow is it cool!
David and John from Direct Electric Company called the day of our appointment and asked if it was ok for them to come a couple hours early because they were ahead of their day's schedule. Yeah, it was! They came and did the evaluation and installation quickly and efficiently, left their work area cleaner then they found it, and were courteous and patient as they explained how the product works and how to run.

Friends have purchased "Quiet Cool" systems and they love it. If the outside air temp. is cooler than inside your house it saves you money over air conditioning.
I noticed D.E.C. had great yelp ratings so I took a chance. I was very impressed with Rick over the phone. He was very knowledgeable and recommended the perfect unit (Trident Pro 6.0) for our 3200 sq. ft. house. Steve and Chase installed the unit. They were earlier and had to wait for me to get home.
The install went perfect. They were quick and worked to perfection. They cleaned up, and left our home cleaner than before they arrived.
The first night our house was 78 degrees when we went to bed. I ran the unit on "low" and set the timer for 8 hours (10pm to 6am). We woke up and it was too cold to get out of bed. 62 degrees inside our house . The outside air temp was 59.

From my first contact with DEC ("request an online quote") to final installation of our ceiling fan, we were in excellent hands. The estimated quote response was quick, as were the follow up phone call and appointment scheduling. Steve and Chase showed up on time and were professional and friendly. They managed to open a, not often opened, attic door and efficiently wire and hang the fan. They protected the floor and furniture and cleaned up any mess. I know hanging a ceiling fan is not a "big job", but we were treated by all parties at DEC with the same courtesy and professionalism as a customer with one.
And after finishing and leaving, Steve and Chase came back when they realized they hadn't put the bed back. Great guys! Great company. Highly recommended.
The first phone call started out fine. Rick Sanada, a manager for Direct electric company gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled my appointment. That's when things started to go wrong. He originally set an appointment for me on Wednesday morning at 10 AM. So I cleared my schedule at work and waited for someone to show up. As you can probably guess nobody showed up and it was already 1045am. So I decided to call Rick. He did not answer the phone so I left a message. It was about 12 o'clock and still nobody showed up. I picked up the phone and called Rick again. This time he answered and acted so surprised that nobody has shown up yet. I told him I took the day off work and he seemed not to care just eager to reset the appointment (probably so he can get paid ). I told him "yes things happen but I should have at least been contacted if no one was going to show up or even be late." He agreed, then quickly went back to setting up another appointment. Foolishly I agreed to have them come back the next day at 3 PM. So I left work early to meet them at 3 PM and as you can expect they did not show up. So I called Rick and he did not answer the phone at 3:30. About an hour later no one has shown up or tried to contact me. I proceeded to send Rick an email letting him know how unsatisfied I was. I still did not hear back from him. One of the installers finally called me about 430pm. He was very rude and acted like it was my fault that he was scheduled to be in LA that morning and backed up his entire route for the day. He rudely asked me "do I still want him to come." Foolish me again, I gave them another chance and said OK. They arrived about 30 minutes later and were very rude and unprofessional. Once they went up in my attic, It turns out the fan that Rick sold me over the phone would not fit. Understandable, he was not at my house to see the conditions. The installers told me that they could not install anything that day. They gave me a quick recommendation to buy two separate fans and were ready to leave. I then asked him if he was going to clean up all the insulation he had dropped out of my attic before he left. He then asked me "do you have a broom?" (He seamed to be bothered by my question) I think this happens on every install and they should have supplied their own broom, but I let him use mine anyways. Not a big deal I guess. He did a half hearted clean up and left. As you can tell I will not be doing any business with this company and don't recommend them to anybody else. I'm glad I didn't have to pay anything up front. I sell residential solar for a living and expect the same level of professionalism I give to my customers.
From start to finish, this has been the best home upgrade experience we've had since buying our new home. Everything was patiently explained to us by a friendly, knowledgeable, experienced professional. Then, the installers raised the experience to an even higher level. They were friendly to my toddlers, who would not stay out of their way. They remained patient throughout the entire process. They installed exactly where I wanted it after offering me options. They were quiet as the job would allow and cleaned up after themselves.
And, if that weren't enough, we LOVE our whole house fan. We've gone from using an expensive air conditioner that barely reduces the temperature enough that we get a restless sleep to cooling our entire house with fresh cool desert night air.
